Music Production
My music production work is primarily centred on Logic Pro X, where I have developed a consistent practice across solo projects, collaborative work, and production for other artists. Within this workflow, I use Logic for recording, arrangement, editing, mixing, and mastering, with a particular focus on combining programmed elements with live instrumentation, including guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard. blending a digital and analogue workflow, using the kit available to me at Soundskills Studio. I also work in FL Studio 20 and, more intermittently, in BandLab, using these platforms for experimentation, sketching ideas, and collaboration.
Across this work, I have supported artists at different stages of the production process, from vocals over pre-made instrumentals through to full productions involving live instruments and more detailed arrangements. This has involved not only the technical stages of recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, but also creative input in shaping ideas into finished tracks. Some of this work has progressed towards commercial release and radio play, demonstrating the application of my production skills in professional and public-facing contexts.

Troisnyx ft BLKY x Greg slater - September
Set to release 1st August 2026
Role:
Recording Engineer (alongside Jason Beardsworth), Producer, Editor, Mixer, Mastering Engineer, Featured Artist
Project brief:
To create a hybrid folk/rock track with live instrumentation and spoken or rap-style vocals, approaching the sonic character and arrangement of tracks like “Sing for the Moment.”
What I did:
I worked alongside Jason Beardsworth on the recording, capturing live drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals by Troisnyx. As the producer, I was heavily involved in shaping the concept for the track, guiding its direction, arrangement, and overall sound. I also contributed as a featured artist, adding two rap verses to the final recording. In post-production, I was responsible for editing, mixing, and mastering the final track.
The instrumentation included live recorded drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard, with accompanying strings performed by Greg Slater. The balance between programmed elements and live performance was an important part of the production, with the mix bringing together the rhythmic drive of the drums and the textural detail of the instruments and vocals.
Outcome:
September is one in a series of three notable tracks I have worked on with Troisnyx, including Bogey Man and Electrify. Each of these tracks sits around 6,000 views on Newgrounds alone, with September set to release in August of this year. The hybrid rock/rap style distinguishes it from more conventional rap work and demonstrates my ability to work with live instrumentation, cross-genre production, and artist collaboration. It also shows my capacity to contribute creatively to a track as a performer while maintaining technical leadership across the production process.
Skills demonstrated:
• Recording of live drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals.
• Collaborative recording workflow with another engineer
• Production, concept development, and arrangement guidance
• Editing, mixing, and mastering
• Hybrid genre production (rock/rap/folk)
• Featured artist contribution
Gandom Rhy - Wone Gest EP
2020
Role:
Executive Producer, Recording Engineer, Editor, Mixing Engineer, Mastering Engineer
Project brief:
To produce a full rap/hip-hop EP for local artist Gandom Rhy, released on all major streaming platforms. The beats were created by notable grime producer Westy, and the project required executive production oversight, full recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, with creative direction input throughout.
What I did:
I acted as the executive producer on this project, overseeing the full production
process from early planning through to final release. I recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered the entire EP. Throughout the process, I provided creative direction input, helping to shape the sonic identity and overall cohesion of the material while working with Westy’s beats.
This EP is one of many projects I have worked on with Gandom Rhy. The artist is quite hands-on and involved in all aspects of the process, so there was a collaborative approach to this project in all facets, from early concept and beat selection through to recording, arrangement, and final production decisions. This required a balancing of executive production leadership with close artist collaboration and creative responsiveness.
The EP was released across all major streaming platforms, demonstrating the ability to take a project from studio session and production through to commercial release.
Outcome:
The Wone Gest EP was released on all major streaming platforms, representing a complete artist release from production to distribution. It demonstrates my capacity to work as an executive producer, manage the full production lifecycle, and support artists in delivering material that is suitable for commercial release. It also shows my ability to collaborate with notable producers such as Westy and integrate their work into a unified final product, and to maintain a collaborative working relationship with a hands-on artist across all stages of the project.
Skills demonstrated:
• Executive production oversight
• Full recording, editing, mixing, and mastering
• Creative direction and artist collaboration
• Collaborative approach with a hands-on artist across all facets
• Collaboration with notable grime producer Westy
• Commercial release and distribution workflow
Gizmo - Orite Cha
2020
Role:
Producer, Recording Engineer, Editor, Mixing Engineer, Mastering Engineer
Project brief:
To produce rap tracks for Preston-based rapper Gizmo, with Instrumentals being provided by producers Gizmo had connected with, including notable grime producer Westy. The most notable track from this series is Orite Cha, which required full production, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.
What I did:
I mainly produced Gizmo’s tracks, working across multiple songs with him. For Orite Cha, I was responsible for the majority of the production work, including recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. The beats came from producers Gizmo already knew and had worked with previously, including Westy, so the production involved integrating those beats into a cohesive track while supporting Gizmo’s creative direction and vocal delivery.
This work was part of a broader collaboration with Gizmo across a number of tracks, demonstrating a sustained working relationship rather than a single session.
Outcome:
Orite Cha is the most notable of the tracks I worked on with Gizmo, with over 8,000 plays on YouTube. Gizmo has since gone on to work with BBC Radio, including BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio 1Xtra, which demonstrates that the work contributed to an artist who has progressed into national radio exposure. This shows my ability to support an artist from early production through to a level of professionalism that aligns with broadcast and wider industry recognition.
Skills demonstrated:
• Production across multiple tracks with one artist
• Recording, editing, mixing, and mastering
• Integration of beats from external producers (including Westy)
• Sustained artist collaboration and creative partnership
• Support for an artist progressing to BBC Radio exposure
Byron - Idiot's Game
2020
Role:
Producer, Recording Engineer, Editor, Mixing Engineer, Mastering Engineer
Project brief:
To produce tracks for Byron Highton, the leading anti-knife crime speaker in the UK. Byron worked on many tracks with me, with Idiot’s Game being one of the most significant. The track was used extensively in talks Byron presented throughout the country and generated attention from radio outlets.
What I did:
My input into Byron’s work was similar to my work with Gizmo in terms of role and collaboration. I worked with Byron on many tracks, and for Idiot’s Game, I acted as the main producer, responsible for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. This was part of a sustained working relationship across multiple projects, rather than a single session, and involved supporting Byron’s creative direction and vocal delivery while shaping the overall production.
Idiot’s Game was featured heavily in Byron’s anti-knife crime talks presented across the UK, which means the track was used in public-facing, advocacy-driven contexts rather than just as a standalone release.
Outcome:
Idiot’s Game is one of the most notable tracks I worked on with Byron, and it was used in countless talks he has presented throughout the country. Byron has gained attention from radio outlets and is well known nationally, with regular appearances in newspapers, blogs, radio, and TV. This demonstrates that the work contributed to an artist who is active in national public discourse and advocacy, and that the production was suitable for use in high-profile, socially significant contexts. It also shows my ability to collaborate with a nationally recognised speaker and produce work that supports both creative and advocacy goals.
Skills demonstrated:
• Production across multiple tracks with one artist
• Recording, editing, mixing, and mastering
• Sustained artist collaboration and creative partnership
• Production for public-facing and advocacy-driven contexts
• Support for an artist with national media presence and anti-knife crime advocacy work
